What is the septoplasty surgery operation?
A nasal septal resection is a surgical procedure that targets functional interests within the nose, including the correction of the twisted or oblique septum. Deviated septum may be present from birth or be the result of a prior injury to the nose. If you have difficulty breathing from one or both of your nose or have a physical trauma to the nose that has affected your ability to breathe, you may be a candidate for barrier surgery to correct your oblique barrier and improve breathing.

The nasal septal plastic surgery can be performed as a closed or open procedure depending on the complexity of the septum deviation. When performing closed operations, a small incision is made in the inner lining of the nose, which is called the mucosa, to provide access to the cartilage and the septal bone. Depending on the details of each patient’s needs, parts of the septum can then be removed entirely, trimmed, repositioned, or wholly rebuilt using patchwork.
