Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp black pepper (freshly ground for best flavor)
- 1 tbsp paprika (smoked or sweet, your choice)
- 1½ tsp garlic powder
- 1½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp brown sugar (optional — enhances caramelization)
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a little heat)
- ½ tsp dried thyme or oregano (optional, for a hint of herbs)
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Store in an airtight container or spice jar.
- Use about 1 teaspoon per 1 lb (450 g) of ground beef.
- Mix directly into the meat before forming patties, or sprinkle generously on both sides before grilling.
Tips for the Best Burgers:
- Don’t overmix the beef — it can make patties tough.
- Use 80/20 ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat) for juiciness.
- Sear on high heat for a flavorful crust.
- Add a small pat of butter on top of each patty as it cooks for extra richness.
