Burger Seasoning

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper (freshly ground for best flavor)
  • 1 tbsp paprika (smoked or sweet, your choice)
  • 1½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional — enhances caramelization)
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a little heat)
  • ½ tsp dried thyme or oregano (optional, for a hint of herbs)

Instructions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Store in an airtight container or spice jar.
  3. Use about 1 teaspoon per 1 lb (450 g) of ground beef.
  4. Mix directly into the meat before forming patties, or sprinkle generously on both sides before grilling.

Tips for the Best Burgers:

  • Don’t overmix the beef — it can make patties tough.
  • Use 80/20 ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat) for juiciness.
  • Sear on high heat for a flavorful crust.
  • Add a small pat of butter on top of each patty as it cooks for extra richness.
