Homemade Baileys Irish Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml) Irish whiskey (Jameson or your favorite brand)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 1 (14 oz / 400 g) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup (or 1 tbsp cocoa powder mixed with 1 tbsp hot water)
  • 1 tsp instant coffee or espresso powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: a small pinch of salt (enhances flavor)

Instructions

1️⃣ Blend It All:
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend for 20–30 seconds until smooth and creamy.
(Don’t over-blend or the cream can thicken too much!)

2️⃣ Taste & Adjust:
Taste the mixture — want it stronger? Add a splash more whiskey. Sweeter? Add a drizzle more condensed milk.

3️⃣ Bottle It Up:
Pour into sterilized glass bottles or jars with lids.
Refrigerate immediately.

4️⃣ Chill & Enjoy:
Let it chill for at least 4 hours — it thickens slightly and the flavors blend beautifully.

Serving Ideas

Serve over ice for a cozy nightcap.
Stir into coffee or hot chocolate for an indulgent twist.
Drizzle over ice cream or chocolate desserts.
Pour into small bottles, decorate with ribbons, and gift to friends — it’s Christmas in a bottle!

Tips

Keeps in the fridge for up to 2 weeks — always shake before serving.
