Fried Cheese-Stuffed Doritos
Ingredients (Makes ~12 bites)
- 1 bag Doritos (any flavor, crushed finely – Nacho Cheese works best)
- 8 oz block of mozzarella or cheddar cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (optional, for extra crunch)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Ranch or marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
1. Prep the Coating
- Place crushed Doritos in a shallow bowl.
- Set up a dredging station: flour in one bowl, eggs in another, Doritos (mixed with panko if using) in the last.
2. Coat the Cheese
- Roll each cheese cube in flour (light coating).
- Dip into beaten eggs.
- Press into crushed Doritos until fully coated.
- Repeat egg + Doritos coating once more for maximum crunch.
3. Fry
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry cheese bites in batches for 30–45 seconds, until golden and crisp.
- Drain on paper towels.
4. Serve
- Serve hot with ranch, marinara, or spicy chipotle sauce.
